Most colour-capable hunting torches rely on clip-on filters — accessories that block a significant portion of the output, work loose in the cold, and end up lost in long grass. The Speras TH6 builds all four colours into the torch itself, with a round white LED, a Luminus red LED, a Luminus green LED, and an Osram IR850 emitter each generating their colour directly at the diode. The result is a brighter, more intense coloured beam that throws considerably further than filtered white light, selected instantly by rotating the collar switch below the head.
Each colour has a purpose. White delivers the full 600 lumens in flood and reaches 1173 metres focused for identification and long-range scanning. Red is the conventional choice for predators, which are less sensitive to that part of the spectrum, and reaches 511 metres focused. Green gives better contrast and slightly more reach at 614 metres, and is widely preferred for feral pig work. IR850 is invisible to both the human eye and to wildlife, functioning purely as an illuminator to extend the range and clarity of digital night vision scopes and goggles.
The 66mm aspheric lens is what separates the TH6 from the more compact TH4. Push and pull the head to move smoothly between a wide flood beam for checking tracks, gates, nearby scrub and the ground around a stand, and a tight spot for fence lines, open paddocks, and distant country. Peak intensity in the focused position is 344,000 candela.
The stepless tail dial is the feature experienced nocturnal hunters tend to notice first. Rather than stepping through fixed modes — where each jump throws a sudden burst of light that spooks animals and resets your own dark adaptation — the dial ramps fluidly from 3% to 100%. Clockwise raises output, anticlockwise lowers it, and the movement is quiet. You set the exact brightness the situation needs and nothing more.
The USB-C remote pressure switch plugs directly into the side USB-C port — the same port used for charging — so there’s no unscrewing or swapping tail caps to fit it. The remote also supports the stepless dimming function, giving silent brightness control from the fore-end while the torch stays mounted. A scope mount is included in the kit.
Power comes from a 21700 5000mAh rechargeable battery delivering up to 48 hours in the lowest setting and around 2.4 hours at full output, with an LED indicator showing charge status. The body is 6061 aerospace aluminium with a type III hard military anodised finish, rated IP68 for submersion to 2 metres and built to withstand heavy recoil. At 195mm long and 321g without battery, it remains manageable for a torch with a 66mm head.
