The Speras M4 V3 is a genuine pocket thrower — 85.6mm and 91g, yet it pushes 2200 lumens to 700 metres via a Luminus SFT42R behind a TIR optic, with independent testing measuring 755 metres, beyond the claim. Its modular battery system is the trick: run the included 18350 for minimum bulk, or fit the optional TB217 tube and a 21700 for 2800 lumens, 740 metres and up to 500 hours of ECO runtime. Seven modes, mode memory, electronic lockout, a flat magnetic tail cap, USB-C charging in 45 minutes and IP68 sealing.

The M4 V3 is a pocket thrower — a category that sounds like a contradiction until you use one. At 85.6mm long and 91g in its standard configuration it disappears into a jeans pocket, yet it puts a beam 700 metres down range. That is further than most torches three times its size manage.
The emitter is a Luminus SFT42R, a round-die LED built for intensity, sitting behind a high-transmittance PMMA TIR optic. The round die and TIR combination produces a clean centre beam with no dark rings or artefacts — a common failing in small throwers, where the optics are too tight to hide a square die. Output is 2200 lumens with a peak intensity of roughly 122,500 candela.
Independent testing backs the numbers up. The review site 1Lumen measured 755 metres of throw against Speras’s 700-metre claim, and 2,158 lumens at thirty seconds against a claimed 2,200. Brands that under-promise on throw are rare enough to be worth pointing out.
The modular battery system is what gives the M4 V3 two personalities. As supplied it runs an included 18350 for the smallest possible carry. Fit the optional TB217 extension tube and a 5000mAh 21700, and output rises to 2800 lumens, throw extends to 740 metres, and ECO runtime stretches to 500 hours. Same torch, same head — swap the tube and it goes from pocket EDC to a light you could run for weeks. The tube threads straight on with no tools.
Seven modes — Turbo, High, Medium, Low, ECO, Strobe and SOS — are reached through a single side switch, with mode memory returning you to the last level used. An electronic lockout engages with a two-second press, so it will not fire in a pocket. A flat magnetic tail cap holds it to any steel surface for hands-free work, and because the cap is flat the torch also tail-stands as a small area light.
Charging is USB-C built into the torch, and the 18350 refills in about 45 minutes — short enough that topping up over a coffee break is realistic. The body is aerospace-grade aluminium rated IP68.
