The Nitecore UT6 runs eight dual-core MCT UHE LEDs across three colour temperatures — 6500K cool white (CRI 73), 4500K neutral white (CRI 85), and 3000K warm white (CRI 98) — each on its own dedicated button, with no menu cycling. TrueVision+ optics deliver a wide-angle flood with smooth beam transitions at up to 1600 lumens and a 195-metre throw.

A three-position mode slider switches between Lockout, Long-Runtime, and High-Performance, while the field-swappable NL1840R 4000mAh battery delivers up to 31 hours. Magnesium alloy and PC construction, 130g complete, IP68 submersible to 2 metres, with the new Rapid Reel™ headband for one-handed adjustment on the move.

Additional information

PRODUCT INFO

The Nitecore UT6 is built around a straightforward idea for trail and ultra runners: the right light for the conditions, available instantly, without taking your attention off the trail. Eight dual-core MCT UHE LEDs produce three distinct colour temperatures, and each has its own dedicated button.

3000K warm white at CRI 98 renders colour accurately and cuts through rain, fog, and dust — the choice for technical ground and poor visibility. 4500K neutral white at CRI 85 handles general trail work. 6500K cool white at CRI 73 provides maximum brightness and efficiency for fast, open sections.

Unlike many multi-tint headlamps, the UT6 maintains full output and throw across all three colour temperatures with no compromise on any of them.

Beam and Optics

The unibody multi-facet optical lens paired with TrueVision+ technology produces a large-angle floodlight with smooth, soft beam transitions — no defined hotspot edge, no dark ring between spot and spill. Over hours of running, that even field is significantly less fatiguing than a conventional reflector beam. Maximum output is 1600 lumens with a 195-metre beam distance and 9,508 candela peak intensity.

Controls

A three-position mode slider on the body sets the operating profile by feel alone. Lockout disables the buttons so the headlamp cannot switch on against gear in a pack. Long-Runtime Mode stretches every charge, delivering up to 31 hours at the 150-lumen level — enough to cover two nights. High-Performance Mode unlocks higher sustained brightness for technical terrain and fast descents.

Four brightness levels and two special modes sit within each colour temperature, all reached through the three-button interface designed for confident one-handed operation while moving.

Battery and Runtime

Power comes from the included NL1840R 4000mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery, charged directly through the headlamp’s USB-C port — a power bank in a pack tops it up without stopping. The battery is also field-swappable via the detachable bracket, so a spare cell restores full runtime in seconds during a long race or overnight event.

Build and Weight

The body is magnesium alloy and PC — the magnesium keeping weight down while assisting heat dissipation — with the complete unit including battery, bracket, and headband weighing 130g. The new Rapid Reel™ headband (Utility Model Patent No. CN202220968372.3) allows quick one-handed tension adjustment on the move, and the head tilts up to 45 degrees.

IP68 rated for submersion to 2 metres and 2-metre impact resistance cover the conditions genuine trail use produces. An integrated thermal protection system regulates output automatically to maintain reliable performance under sustained load.
