The Nitecore TM10K fires 10,000 lumens from six CREE XHP35 HD LEDs in a body just 110mm long — a burst mode of around seven seconds that lights an entire scene at once, backed by a customisable High you can set anywhere between 400 and 2000 lumens. A multifunctional OLED shows live lumens, voltage, runtime and temperature, and two lockout modes let you disable the side buttons while keeping tail Turbo ready in a holster. Powered by a built-in 4800mAh 21700 with 35A discharge and USB-C QuickCharge 2.0. Ultralow runs 200 hours.

PRODUCT INFO

The TM10K is the torch Nitecore built to prove a point. Six CREE XHP35 HD LEDs behind a smooth reflector with crystal coating and Precision Digital Optics Technology produce 10,000 lumens, 20,000 candela and a 288-metre beam — from a body 110mm long weighing 246.5g with the clip. Nitecore describe it as smaller than a phone, and they are right.

Be clear about what 10,000 lumens means here. Turbo is a burst mode lasting around seven seconds — Nitecore market the torch on “10,000 lumen burst” for exactly that reason. It is there to light up a scene instantly, not to run continuously, and there is no torch this size that could sustain it. What you get afterwards is High at a default 1000 lumens for 1 hour 45 minutes, which is a genuinely useful working output.

The feature that makes the TM10K unusual is that High is customisable. You can set it anywhere between 400 and 2000 lumens in 100-lumen increments and it stays there. Rather than accepting whatever levels the manufacturer chose, you tune the torch to the brightness your work actually needs and the runtime you want from it. Below that sit Mid at 300 lumens for 5 hours 45, Low at 100 lumens for 12 hours, and Ultralow at 3 lumens running up to 200 hours.

A multifunctional OLED display reports output in lumens, battery voltage, remaining runtime and temperature in real time, plus a progress bar while Turbo is running and charging status when plugged in. Two thermal sensors monitor the LEDs and the system separately, feeding Nitecore’s Advanced Temperature Regulation so the torch calculates output and remaining runtime against actual conditions rather than a fixed table. Heat is carried away by a 4mm copper circuit board and a die-cast unibody cooling tube — necessary engineering when six XHP35s fire at once.

Three metal buttons handle everything: power and mode on the side, plus a tail switch for instant Turbo, with direct access to High and Ultralow. Two lockout modes cover different carry situations — full lockout for a pack, and half lockout which disables the side buttons but leaves the tail Turbo switch live, for pocket or holster carry where you might need light immediately.

Power comes from a built-in 4800mAh 21700 Li-ion cell capable of 35A discharge — roughly twice the capacity of a conventional IMR18650, and the current capability is what makes the burst possible. It is welded in and not user-replaceable, so this is a torch with a finite service life rather than one you re-cell. Charging is USB-C with QuickCharge 2.0 at up to 18W; the display shows “Q.charge” when a QC adapter is detected. The torch cannot be operated while charging.

The body is aero-grade aluminium with a deep pocket clip, and a holster, lanyard and USB-C cable are supplied.

Use Cases / Ideal For

  • Search and rescue — a 10,000-lumen burst lights an entire scene instantly, then High holds a usable 1000 lumens for nearly two hours
  • Police and security — half lockout keeps the tail Turbo live in a holster while the side buttons stay disabled
  • Incident and scene assessment — the burst is ideal for taking in a whole area at once before settling into a working level
  • Professional users who want a specific output — customisable High between 400 and 2000 lumens sets the torch to the job rather than the other way round
  • Emergency and vehicle kit — 200 hours at Ultralow, OLED battery readout and USB-C QuickCharge
  • Collectors and enthusiasts — a landmark Nitecore design and still one of the most striking demonstrations of compact LED output
