Low runs 250 hours. Includes a silicon nitride strike bezel, a double-protected USB-C port, an NL1835HP high-discharge 18650 and an NTH20 holster. 136g, IP68.

PRODUCT INFO

The P22R is a duty tactical torch built around one idea: getting the right output instantly, under pressure, without thinking about it. A CREE XHP35 HD LED rated to 50,000 hours sits behind a smooth reflector with a crystal coating, producing 1800 lumens, 17,200 candela and a 262-metre beam.

Second-generation STROBE READY is the feature the torch is named for. Strobe is accessible from any state — off, on, any brightness — with a single hold of the mode switch. It runs at the full 1800 lumens on randomly changing frequencies, which is deliberate: the eye cannot adapt to an irregular pattern the way it adapts to a fixed one, so the disorienting effect lasts. There is no cycling and no sequence to remember.

Three selectable user mode groups — Daily, Tactical and Law Enforcement — let the torch behave differently for different work. All three keep strobe access. The dual tail switch gives momentary and constant-on operation for one-handed use, and mode memory returns you to the brightness you were last using.

Four brightness levels run 1800, 380, 75 and 1 lumens, with runtimes of 30 minutes, 3 hours 30, 18 hours and 250 hours respectively. That 1-lumen mode running 250 hours is more useful than it sounds — over ten days of continuous low light for a stakeout, a stationary position, or simply not going flat in a kit bag.

One requirement to be aware of. Turbo is only available with a battery capable of at least 8A discharge. The included Nitecore NL1835HP 3500mAh 18650 meets that; a standard 18650 does not, and the torch will simply not reach 1800 lumens on one. If you buy spare cells for this torch, they must be high-discharge. It is also compatible with 2 × CR123 or RCR123 via the included battery magazine, which is the backup option when lithium rechargeables are not available.

The strike bezel is made with silicon nitride ceramic — among the hardest materials available — for glass breaking and close-quarters use. The USB-C charging port is protected twice over: an internally waterproof design plus a rotating aluminium alloy cover, rather than the rubber flap that fails first on most torches. A power indicator reports remaining charge, an Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) module manages heat, and electronic reverse polarity protection guards against a cell fitted backwards.

At 152.8mm and 136g the P22R is light for a duty light. It is rated IP68 — submersible to 2 metres — and tested to 1 metre of impact resistance. An NTH20 tactical holster, clip, lanyard, CR123 magazine, spare O-ring and USB-C cable are all supplied, and the optional NTR10 tactical ring is available for weapon-mounted or syringe-grip use.
