The SK07 is Loop Gear’s first purpose-built tactical torch — no sidelight, no RGB, no magnet, just a Luminus SFT-42R emitter throwing 2800 lumens to 515 metres. Patrol mode starts on low to preserve night vision; Tactical mode starts instantly on high at 1200 lumens with a firm press for strobe. A mechanical twist lock physically breaks the circuit so it cannot switch on in a bag, the 3000mAh 18650 is replaceable so a spare doubles your runtime, and a tri-colour indicator shows charge at a glance. 95.4g, aerospace aluminium, IPX8.

PRODUCT INFO

The SK07 is Loop Gear’s first genuinely tactical torch, and the restraint is the point. No sidelight, no RGB panel, no magnetic base, no pixel display — all the things their other models are known for have been left out. What remains is a single beam, a tail switch, and a mechanical lock, which is exactly what a duty light should be.

The emitter is a Luminus SFT-42R at 6500K — a domeless LED with a round emitting surface, paired with a smooth reflector. That round die produces a clean, circular hotspot even up close, without the square artefact many throwers show on a wall. It is the larger sibling of the SFT-25R, trading a little raw intensity for a wider hotspot and brighter spill, which is the better trade in a light you actually carry. Output peaks at 2800 lumens with a 515-metre beam and roughly 66,000 candela.

Two operating modes handle two different jobs. Patrol mode starts on low — for walking a fence line, checking a meter or moving around a camp without destroying your night vision. Tactical mode starts on high at 1200 lumens, instantly, with a firm press for strobe. There is no cycling to reach the output you need; you choose the behaviour beforehand and the switch does the rest. Four brightness levels sit within that, and strobe is available both momentarily and continuously.

The mechanical lockout is a twist of the ring rather than a button sequence. It physically breaks the circuit, so the torch cannot come on in a bag or a pocket no matter what presses against it — and unlike an electronic lockout, it draws nothing at all while locked. It ships locked; a twist and it is live.

Power is a replaceable 3000mAh full-tab 18650, included, charged in the torch over USB-C in about two hours from a 5V/2A source. Because the cell is replaceable rather than sealed in, carrying a spare doubles your runtime — which matters on a long shift or an overnight search far more than any onboard capacity figure. A tri-colour power indicator reports state at a glance: green above 50%, yellow between 10% and 50%, red below 10%. No guessing, and no flat torch halfway through a job.

The body is aerospace-grade aluminium with a Type III hard-anodised finish and a distinctive skeletal, perforated frame that sheds weight without losing strength — 95.4g without the battery, which is light for a torch throwing this far. It is rated IPX8 for submersion and 1 metre of impact resistance. A pocket clip, spare O-rings and a USB-C cable are in the box.
