The front unit’s Cree XHP50D LED produces a peak 2500 lumens across a 92-degree beam angle that throws to 180 metres — more than enough for high-speed road cycling in complete darkness. What sets it apart from raw-lumen competitors is the anti-glare cut-off facula line: a precise optical boundary that directs light forward and downward along the road surface without spilling upward to blind oncoming riders, pedestrians, and drivers. It’s the detail that makes the BC28R genuinely road-legal and socially responsible — especially for commuters sharing paths and roads with others.
Five front light modes — including Flash — give full runtime flexibility, from a blazing Turbo at 2500 lumens down to a low mode stretching the included ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 21700 battery to a maximum 52 hours of runtime. The battery is replaceable, so you can carry a spare for back-to-back long rides. A battery level indicator and low-voltage warning keep you informed before you’re left in the dark. USB-C charges both units — the front light via its own port, the tail light independently when needed.
The red tail light emits 20 lumens of wide-angle COB red light visible up to 100 metres in five modes — constant, slow flash, fast flash, and more — providing serious rear visibility for night riding. At just 56g, it disappears on the bike.
Both units are machined from precision CNC aluminium with an imitation carbon fibre texture and hard anodised finish — construction quality you can feel the moment you pick them up. IP66 weatherproofing handles rain and spray, while 1.5-metre impact resistance covers the inevitable contact sports of cycling life.
